  New versions of MES and LIMS systems by SIEMENS

Traditionally, at the beginning of every financial year, which commences in October, SIEMENS Industry Software releases new versions of its flagship products for Manufacturing Operation Management (MOM). It has recently marketed new versions of both manufacturing execution systems (MES) and a modern laboratory system (LIMS).

For MES manufacturing system, SIEMENS Industry Software provides 2 solutions at present:

• SIMATIC IT Production Suite – a classic MES under development for nearly 20 years

• SIMATIC IT Unified Architecture – a modern MOM platform developed over recent years, based on state-of-the-art information technologies and huge experience in MES-class systems.

As regards LIMS laboratory systems, SIEMENS Industry Software currently offers the third version of an up-to-date solution called SIMATIC IT R&D Suite, which was developed in recent years based on state-of-the-art information technologies and replaced the classic LIMS, SIMATIC IT Unilab, which had been developed for over 20 years.

All the above-mentioned versions of MES and LIMS systems by SIEMENS provide support for new information technologies available in new versions of Microsoft systems such as Windows Server 2016 and SQL Server 2016 on the server side and Windows 10 with the Edge browser in client computers.
